Root Canal

I don't know why I had imagined a root canal to be excruciatingly painful, but I guess it's the oral condition itself and not the procedure causes most pain. My root canal procedure today a breeze!

I woke up this morning eager to get this tooth of mine fixed up. Being stuck in Europe with doctors you don't trust is not fun. When I decided that I needed to get an actual procedure done I knew I wanted to fly back to Canada and have trusted Doctor Ferguson take care of me. I sound like a princess, don't I? Haha well, maybe; but if someone is going to file out the bone of my tooth all the way to the root, I want to make sure I trust that person. My appointment was at 2PM so I made myself a hearty lunch and then drove down to Dr. Ferguson's office.

When I walked in, I felt a sense of relief come over me. Everyone that works there is so friendly and Dr. Ferguson made me feel assured that he would take care of this problem and kick that bad bacteria out of there. He gave me a few numbing shots in my mouth and then started to file away. The whole thing lasted just over an hour, but it is only half way done. I have to come back in on Monday to finish it off. That gives the weekend for the disinfectant to do its thing down there.

After a much needed afternoon nap, I went to meet up with my friend Sarah at her apartment in Burnaby. Sarah is my good friend from McGill who moved to Vancouver after graduation. She is originally from Welland, Ontatio, but now has fallen absolutely in love with Vancouver. I'm so happy to have her out West here with me.

I guess tomorrow I will try to go for a nice walk somewhere or something. I also have an interview tomorrow at a youth hostel in downtown Vancouver. I'm really looking forward to it and I really hope it translates into a job for the summer. That would be such an awesome summer job :)

xoxo
