Rounding off Week 1

I woke up this morning, looked out the window and shivered at the sight of wind and rain. I had plans to do some more sight seeing, but I thought to myself, I'd better save the Notre Dame for another day when I could get a beautiful picture and use today as a clean-up day! Mark's bedroom looked like a tornado had passed through it (I take partial blame for this). There were piles of books everywhere, clothes scattered on the ground and stuffed in his closet, nothing was folded or placed in its proper location and I believe I heard him come in last night and bang his foot on the side chair because he couldn't find the lamp switch. It was about time we did something about this.

I started by putting a few loads of laundry in and then began the tackle his closet. I'll spare you the details of the whole process, but it took me a good portion of the afternoon to get everything back to order. I even got myself my own shelf so I won't have to live out of my suitcase anymore :) After that was done, I did a quick vacuum of the place and then went for a run along the Seine River and back. It felt good to get outside after a day of cleaning, and luckily the rain had stopped. I think tomorrow I'll go for my run in the late morning because Mark has said that the city isn't too safe after dark. Tonight I'm going to watch Paris, Je T'aime, finish off the bottle of wine from last night and end the night off with a good book. Missing you all back at home!

xoxo
